Stallion Payouts from 2002 - 2007

The Bluegrass Futurity has awarded over
$632,000.00 in Prize money!

The 2007 Bluegrass Futurity limited breeders classes where held Oct 11, 2007 at the Kentucky Horse Park,  in Lexington, KY.  This is the 6th year for this lucrative program which is held during The Kentucky Fall Classic Horse Show.  To date, the Bluegrass Futurity has awarded over $632,000.00.  The Bluegrass Futurity prize money is raised from stud fees auctioned off at the annual auction. Seventy-five percent of the winnings are awarded to the weanling or two-year-old winners and twenty-five percent of the winnings are awarded to the stallion owner. This gives the stallion owner an incentive to donate a breeding to the annual auction. In addition to the prize money awarded, David Freedman of Freedman Harness handcrafts a weanling show halter and Show Bridle Headstall for the winner of the respective classes. A Cindy Wolf bronze is giving to the winner of each class to take home for one year. In a addition, each participant is awarded a beautiful bronze participation medallion.

Kim Cowart, Paul Boone and Lana Gilpin handled the officiating for this year’s classes.  Nineteen quality weanlings answered the gate call for the $84,800.74 weanling class.  When the class was over Amy Hanson’s She’s Wonderful Tonight sired by Ultimatum and out of  French Pastry was awarded $35,910.30.  Second place was awarded to Not Your Average Girl sired by Catalyst and out of Rivendell for Five Hill Farm.  Catalyst has had several top weanlings in the past several years in the Bluegrass Futurity.  Catalyst’s offspring have won over $53,000.00 since the beginning of the Bluegrass Futurity.  Belle Of Royalty, sired by Sir William Robert and out of the champion show mare Belle Of The Abbey was third winning $11,970 for Phillip Galbreath.

The Two-year old class had four outstanding harness horses.  It was Mooi Mooi sired by Uhlen Branch and out of SLS Evening To Remember who captured the approval of the judges for Four Willows Farm.  Mooi Mooi won $14,067.87.  Second was the reserve world champion, Last Class by The Sky King and out of So Like for The Fischer Sisters, winning $7815.49.
